Student Cadets

Serving as the "eyes and ears" for University Police Services, the program has evolved its level of services to include:

  • Evening safety escorts
  • Room openings
  • Emergency notifications
  • Event services
  • RebelRides golf cart shuttle (sponsored by UNLV CSUN)

The Student Cadet program was established to augment police services available to the university community, and has served UNLV for more than 20 years providing approximately 200 hours per week of direct service to campus. The program constantly strives to improve and adapt to the ever-growing and evolving UNLV campus community.

Rebel Rides

University Police Services' Student Cadets, in partnership with UNLV CSUN, provide golf cart shuttle services for students, faculty, and staff to and from any campus location during the evening hours. This service is based on availability.

Student Cadet Employment

University Police Services is looking for mature, responsible students capable of working well with others without direct supervision. Benefits include:

  • Part-time employment.
  • Progressive pay raises.
  • Flexibility with school schedules.
  • All equipment provided.

Interested students must complete an employment application and email or bring it to Police Headquarters on UNLV’s main campus.
