Dean’s Associates

Dean’s Associates comprise the inner-circle of supporters for nursing at UNLV, and are key investors in the students, faculty and programs that make the School of Nursing successful. These individuals and corporations contribute at least $1,000 annually and permit the Dean to allocate the funds where the need is greatest.

School of Nursing Scholarships

Scholarships help the school attract and retain the best and brightest future nursing professionals. Merit- and need-based scholarships are provided to deserving students to help offset the cost of their education. Annual scholarships can be established with a minimum gift of $5,000 and named endowed scholarships can be established with a minimum gift of $30,000.

Community Engagement Fund

The community engagement fund supports the School of Nursing’s efforts to impact and engage with the local community and beyond. A gift to this fund could support an immersion trip for Nursing students to provide services in rural or socio-economically depressed areas. It could also support our Nurse Camp for high school students to explore a potential career in nursing through hands-on simulation and engaging curriculum.

Faculty Innovation Fund

Our faculty continually brainstorm about how they can impact our students’ experiences, bolster scholarship efforts, and make a difference for patients in our communities. This fund inspires innovative ideas and provides resources to move them to action while positively impacting student experiences and community partnerships. This fosters growth of faculty research and more.

Student Services Fund

Occasionally, students find themselves in stressful situations that take away from their ability to dedicate time to Nursing School. These unfortunate circumstances include food insecurity, housing instability, or simply struggling to make ends meet. Our goal during these times is to prevent a student’s performance from suffering and to keep them in school. Students can apply for up to $1,000 at a time to be used at their discretion. Our Student Affairs team and the Dean facilitate these gifts.

Faculty and Staff Giving

As a dedicated member of the UNLV School of Nursing community, your hard work makes a difference in the lives of our students, alumni and friends every day. And now, you can have an even greater impact on the School of Nursing and the communities we serve by making a gift of any size to the school. You can designate your gift to any area that means the most to you or an area that you know needs the most support. By all of us doing a little, we can have tremendous impact on future nurse leaders.

Naming Opportunities

Every so often, a donor recognizes the full potential of an organization and, acting out of incredible generosity, makes a gift that catapults that organization to the next level. A major gift to the School of Nursing is an act of generosity and high regard for the well-being of others. It’s an opportunity for a donor to transform our school and, in turn, profoundly influence the lives of hundreds of students and members of our community in need.

Your support can be directed to create named scholarships, endowed professorships, new programs or improve our facilities.

Some examples include:

  • $5,000 Named Scholarship
  • $30,000 Named Endowed Scholarship
  • $500,000 Named Endowed Fellowship

A named gift not only enhances the school’s ability to serve our students, faculty, and the wider community, but also provides a named legacy of your generosity for the future.
