Continuing Education (CE)

Vision Statement

The UNLV Nursing Center for Continuing Education (NCCE) provides opportunities to healthcare communities with contemporary trends and issues that affect current clinical practice. The NCCE’s effort is congruent with Top Tier Initiatives that assert by 2025 UNLV will be recognized as a public university in research, education, scholarship, and community impact. Further, UNLV's diverse faculty, students, staff, and alumni promote community well-being and individual achievement through education, research, scholarship, creative activities, and clinical services.

Mission Statement

The NCCE offers opportunities, both online and face to face, toward enhancement of knowledge that can immediately be translated toward safe, targeted, and improved clinical practice. Additionally, continuing education credits will be provided for demonstrating advancement of knowledge that is congruent with state board educational requirements.

Philosophy

The NCCE believes that high-quality, evidence-based educational activities will strengthen the professional knowledge of nurses and other disciplines within the healthcare community. The NCCE program is geared to empower healthcare professionals to improve the quality of care through education. Through an array of certificate programs, preparatory seminars, specialty courses, and conferences, the program will help nurses and other professionals update and add to their resumes, earn contact hours, and advance their careers.
