We are excited to invite you to a new faculty community at UNLV: Friends of Microcredentials.
This group is intended for academic and administrative faculty who are interested in learning more about microcredentials and engaging in a collaborative space focused on information sharing, best practices, communal discussion, and occasional guest speakers. Whether you are already developing microcredentials or simply curious about how they can support student learning, we welcome you to join us.
Our first meeting will take place on Thursday, Feb.12, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in HOS 382 or on Zoom (RSVP for link).
This initial session will focus on:
-
A brief overview of the current state of microcredentials at UNLV
-
Standardized microcredential language in syllabi and Canvas courses
-
Incorporating non-credit-bearing microcredentials into existing courses
-
The change process for existing microcredentials
Future meetings will continue to evolve based on faculty interests and needs, with the goal of fostering a supportive and engaged community around microcredentials at UNLV.
