Contractors to Conduct Ground Survey Feb. 4-6

As part of the design phase for the new business school, contractors will conduct a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) survey on the Maryland Campus. A GPR uses radar pulses to create images of underground utilities and geological features.

The survey will take place from Feb. 4 - Feb. 6 and the survey zone will include, but is not limited to, areas around: Flora Dunegan Humanities (FDH), the East Mall, and Tam Alumni Center. During the survey you can expect to see two contractors walking the site with handheld machinery and temporarily opening manhole lids. No impacts to campus are expected.
