The Division of Research is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Harry Reid Silver State Research Award. Nominations, including the full application packet and supporting materials, will be accepted December 16, 2025 - January 27, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
Established in 2001 to honor the late Nevada Senator Harry Reid, this prestigious award recognizes full-time tenured faculty whose research is both highly regarded and meaningfully responsive to the needs of Nevada and its communities. The award includes a $10,000 stipend and is presented by the President at the annual Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony in the spring.
Eligible nominees are full-time tenured faculty members engaged in significant research that that meets one or more of the following criteria:
- Directly and positively affects the economic growth and development of Nevada;
- Addresses a relevant social need in the community and/or region;
- Demonstrably advances significant scholarship in an academic field of knowledge.
