For a long time, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) was thought to be a behavioral disorder. Developmental challenges that children and adults with ASD experience in communicating, learning, problem-solving, interacting with others and maintaining composure or control over behavior were interpreted only as impairments or problems to be fixed. However, these views on ASD are changing.
East Las Vegas has long been considered a medical desert, an area of our community that struggles to find reliable healthcare options nearby. That’s why UNLV launched a pilot program to bring more services to the east valley.
