Biography

Rebecca Scherr is a board-certified pediatrician and nationally recognized specialist in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. She currently serves as chair of the department of pediatrics and division chief of pediatric gastroenterology at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV.

A Las Vegas native, Scherr is deeply committed to improving the health of children and families in Nevada through clinical care, advocacy, education, and public health initiatives. In addition to treating complex gastrointestinal and liver diseases in children, she frequently speaks on topics such as pediatric health, children's wellness, nutrition, chronic disease prevention, medical education, and the importance of community health advocacy.

Scherr has been active with both the board of directors of the American Heart Association in Southern Nevada and the advisory council for the Nevada State Program for Wellness and Prevention of Chronic Disease.
