The UNLV Department of Dance is delighted to unveil its 2025-26 concert season, Celestial Season — a yearlong journey where stars twirl, galaxies glide, and the universe itself seems to dance. This whimsical and wondrous season invites audiences to join UNLV Dance as movement, art, and imagination collide in the brilliant eclipse we call dance.
Season Schedule & Performances
Orbits — October 3–4, 2025 | Judy Bayley Theatre
The season opens with Orbits, a dazzling collection of works choreographed by Artists in Residence Jordan Drew and Skylar Schultz — both former Cirque du Soleil performers turned choreographers. Faculty choreographers Cathy Allen, Hayley Meier, and Vikki Baltimore-Dale also bring their artistry to the stage.
A special highlight: a traditional Georgian dance led by Irakli Rusia, President of the Las Vegas Georgian community. Eight UNLV dance majors will perform this piece before embarking on a cultural tour to the country of Georgia in early October.
CFACoLab… That Show About the Hot Dog — November 7–8, 2025 | Dance Studio HFA 111
Fresh off a triumphant three-week run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, CFACoLab returns home with its quirky, heartwarming hit. Described as “one of the Best Theatre Shows at the Edinburgh Festival” and a “Fringe Recommendation,” That Show About the Hot Dog follows two unlikely frankfurter heroes on a quest for destiny. Zany, tender, and utterly original — it’s a treat to savor.
Gravitational Pulls — November 14–15, 2025
Closing out the fall is Gravitational Pulls, an evening of student choreography and design. These milestone and capstone works showcase the creative brilliance of BFA majors in Performance & Choreography and Dance Production & Management.
Universal Motions — February 27–28, 2026 | Judy Bayley Theatre
The spring season begins with Universal Motions, featuring works by faculty and guest artists. A centerpiece of the program will be Intensities of Space and Wind (1991) by Erick Hawkins, one of the great pioneers of 20th-century modern dance.
American College Dance Association Northwest Regional Conference — March 18–21, 2026
UNLV proudly hosts this prestigious conference, welcoming 500 collegiate dancers and faculty from across the country for four days of groundbreaking performances and shared artistry.
Elegant Universes — April 24–25, 2026
The season concludes with Elegant Universes, a sparkling showcase of student capstone choreography, lighting, and design — a fitting finale to a season of cosmic wonder.
