UNLV to Celebrate Winter 2018 Commencement Dec. 18

More than 2,000 students from 33 states and 49 countries eligible to participate in 4 p.m. ceremony at Thomas & Mack Center.


UNLV will welcome the newest members to the Class of 2018 at its Winter Commencement.

More than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to participate in this winter’s commencement, up slightly from last year.

Participants range in age from 20 to 72, and hail from 33 states, the District of Columbia, and 49 foreign countries. Approximately 85 percent of graduates are Nevada residents and more than half – 63 percent – are from ethnically diverse backgrounds. Since 1964, UNLV has awarded nearly 136,000 degrees.

UNLV acting president Marta Meana will award an honorary doctorate to Ruby Duncan and highlight four graduating students for their outstanding academic and community achievements.
