A petition started by faculty has been going around campus to create a safe space for undocumented immigrants affiliated with UNLV. According to activists, the document addressed to the president of the University has gathered hundreds of signatures.

After an attack at Ohio State University Monday, some people can’t help but ask, “what if that happened here?” Police at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas told FOX5 they prepare as best as they can for the worst on campus. UNLV Chief of Police Jose Elique said even though the attack in Ohio happened 2,000 miles away, it still hits home.

UNLV's student newspaper has a new name: the Scarlet & Gray Free Press. The newspaper's editor, Bianca Cseke, announced the new name in a post on Monday. The newspaper was previously known as The Rebel Yell.
