UNLV has named an interim head for its medical school. The university announced Wednesday that it has appointed Dr. Alison Netski as interim dean of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine and interim vice president for health affairs at UNLV.

A new interim dean has been selected for the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. Dr. Alison Netski has been appointed as the interim vice president for health affairs at the university, according to an announcement made by Chris Heavey, the UNLV Officer in Charge, on Wednesday morning.

Take a sip for scholarship. UNLVino, the oldest and largest wine tasting in Las Vegas, returns for its 50th year from 7 to 10 p.m. May 2 at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Grand Tasting raises scholarship money for students attending the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality at UNLV. The college is one of the country’s top two hospitality schools, along with the program at Cornell University.

Elon Musk took his chainsaw last month to federal grants for mental health  – including two that provide free mental health counseling to youth in Elko and Humboldt Counties, where access to such services is scarce, according to UNLV’s Dr. Dan Allen, director and principal investigator of the Nevada Rural Mental Health Outreach Program (RHOP). DOGE also eliminated another grant for the mental health needs of homeless children.
