UNLV’s new president Dr. Keith Whitfield is nearly a month into his new position as the university’s 5th president in the past 10 years and there are plenty of issues to tackle.

UNLV continues to be ranked near the top of U.S. News & World Report’s annual listing of the nation’s most diverse campuses. In an examination of the student body at 389 universities, UNLV’s diversity score was tied for second-best along with Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich., and behind the University of Hawaii. The listing, based on 2019 enrollment, was released Monday.

As I complete my first full week as president of UNLV, I’ve had the privilege of hearing from many students, faculty, staff and community members who have shared kind words of support as I start my new journey.
