Biography

UNLV College of Sciences professor Sean A. Neiswenter's research focuses on the classification, conservation, and natural history of mammals.

Neiswenter has taught courses on topics including mammalogy, conservation biology, histology (the study of microscopic structure and function of vertebrate tissues), and systematics (reconstructing the history and biotic diversity among genes, species, and higher taxa).

He has been monitoring coyotes and other carnivores in the Las Vegas area for several years. Neiswenter also has experience with omnivores, such as skunks and squirrels, as well as rodents and bats.
