Rebecca Rice is an expert in organizational communication. She studies how organizations work together to respond to emergencies, including natural disasters like fires and flooding and security threats like terrorist attacks and mass shootings. Rebecca focuses on how everyday conversations among organizational members lead to decision-making about how to respond to emergencies, creating long-lasting impacts on communities. 

Her research also includes inter-organizational collaboration, high-reliability organizing, and security.
