Biography

UNLV marketing professor Nadia Pomirleanu is an expert on fan engagement and sports branding, the business of live entertainment and cultural events, experiential marketing strategy, consumer behavior and brand loyalty, and corporate reputation management. Her research explores how brands build meaningful relationships with consumers — examining the psychological, social, and organizational forces that shape loyalty, trust, and purchasing behavior. With academic training spanning marketing and finance, she studies how experience-driven strategies transform the way companies compete.

Pomirleanu specializes in experiential marketing, a field that is redefining how industries — from professional sports to entertainment and hospitality — engage their audiences. Her research examines how live, immersive experiences create emotional bonds between brands and consumers that traditional advertising cannot replicate. 

Her work also addresses brand legitimacy, corporate social responsibility communication, and how organizations navigate consumer trust during periods of disruption and crisis. This includes analysis of the rapidly evolving market like Las Vegas, where major sports franchises, hospitality brands, and cultural institutions are simultaneously expanding their footprints and competing for long-term audience loyalty. Pomirleanu's research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals and recognized with national scholarly awards.
