Biography

UNLV School of Social Work lecturer Anne-Marie Abruscato is an expert in the field of trauma-informed care. She has over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, children and families.

Abruscato is trained in evidence-based interventions for trauma, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing.

She serves as co-chair of the Quality Parenting Initiative Communications Workgroup through Clark County Department of Family Services. Abruscato has provided presentations to public agencies on the topics of wellness, stress management, and trauma, and also facilitates Reconnection Workshops for military service members, veterans, and families through the American Red Cross. Additionally, she offers workshops at UNLV Continuing Education on topics related to trauma, clinical intervention, and mental health diagnosis.
