Biography

Andrew D. Lugg is an expert on international trade and investment, international organizations, and public attitudes toward globalization. He is an assistant professor of political science at UNLV and a non-resident fellow at the World Trade Institute at the University of Bern in Switzerland.

Lugg's research examines how international institutions are designed, how they evolve, and how the public perceives them — including controversial mechanisms like investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS).

His work has been published in leading academic outlets including Cambridge University Press, International Studies Quarterly, Review of International Organizations, World Trade Review, and the Journal of International Economic Law. He has also co-authored policy reports for the World Bank, USAID, and the European Parliament, and his research has been covered by popular outlets such as The Washington Post.
