Tyler D. Parry (Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies) presented research at the symposium, "That Was Then, What Now? Pathways and Lessons from a Generation of Studying Universities and Slavery" held at the University of Alabama. In this presentation, Parry revisited his work investigating the African American experience at the University of South Carolina, uncovering the lived experiences on enslaved people on campus and how the legacies of chattel slavery continue to inform narratives about the campus's landscape and history.
