Tyler D. Parry (Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies) gave a public lecture at the Whitney Library exploring the origins of Black History Month. He examined how it is celebrated in the United States and abroad, while providing additional insights into how the event was first celebrated in Las Vegas and how it grew over the decades.
