Tirth Bhatta (Sociology) collaborated with colleagues from UNLV and other universities to author a book chapter entitled the title "The Intersections of Gender and Caste, Cumulative Dis/Advantage and Later-Life Health in Nepal" for the Routledge publication "Population Aging in Societal Context." This chapter uses Nepal as a model to understand how structural positioning in the Global South at the nexus of gender, caste, and social class affects later-life health. It synthesizes intersectionality and life course frameworks to inform future research on later-life health inequalities in Nepal, precisely and in the Global South, focusing on gender, caste, and socioeconomic differences.
