Shane Kraus (Psychology) and colleagues recently co-authored 8 peer-reviewed publications this summer that advance research on behavioral addictions, sexual health, and mental health. Appearing in high-impact journals including Psychiatry Research, Archives of Sexual Behavior, International Gambling Studies, Sexual Abuse, Journal of Sexual Medicine, and International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction, the studies investigated sports gambling, affect regulation, problem gaming and loot boxes, compulsive sexual behavior, pornography use, chemsex, and cross-cultural associations among trauma, impulsivity, and alcohol misuse. The research included large longitudinal and multinational studies involving international collaborators and provides evidence to improve screening, prevention, and treatment for behavioral addictions and related mental health concerns.

- The second article (Depressive symptoms and pornography use: A census-matched longitudinal study) was published in Psychiatry Research.
- The third article (The Development of the Paraphilic Disorders Short Screen (PDSS) and Its Examination in Diverse Populations: A Large, Multi-Nation Study) was published in Sexual Abuse.
