Seyhmus Baloglu (Hospitality) co-authored the article "Examining the role of country image in the relationship between cuisine image and intention to visit a country," with Bulent Aydin (School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Batman University Turkey), and Bayram Zafer Erdogan (Faculty of Business, Anadolu University, Turkey). The article was published in International Journal of Tourism Research. Data were collected using online and face-to-face surveys from 445 participants experiencing Turkish cuisine in the United Kingdom. The study found that the general cuisine image positively affects the overall country image, but it does not directly affect the intention to visit. However, general country image plays a mediating role between intention to visit and cuisine image. The findings are limited to those who have experienced Turkish cuisine.
