Reimund Serafica and Jan Ina Gonzales (both Nursing) received the highly competitive $10,000 Alkermes APN Research Award for their project, Voices of Recovery: Exploring Suicide Narratives Among Adults Living with Bipolar I Disorder. In January 2027, they will begin an 18-month study to explore factors that contribute to emotional healing, coping, and resilience among adults living with Bipolar I Disorder who are at high risk for suicide. Their findings may help inform future approaches to supporting recovery and addressing suicide risk.
