Rebecca Rice (Communication Studies) published the article "Disaster Resilience as Communication Practice: Remembering and Forgetting Lessons from Past Disasters through Practices that Prepare for the Next One" in the Journal of Applied Communication Research. The article uses two qualitative case studies from the same county to examine how everyday practices and routines serve as reminders of lessons learned from previous natural disasters, fostering resilience by bringing those lessons forward for the community.
