Rajiv Kishore (Information Systems) served as a faculty mentor at the Mid-Career Faculty Consortium, “Building Momentum at Mid-Career: Pathways to the Next Level,” held as part of the 2026 Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS). He also served as a panelist for the consortium’s academic leadership forum, “Exploring Leadership and Administrative Roles.”

The consortium brought together 15 tenured associate professors and other mid-career faculty from four countries who are considering the next stages of their academic careers. Through panel discussions and small-group mentoring conversations, experienced faculty mentors shared candid, practical perspectives on pathways for professional growth at mid-career, including academic leadership, editorial service, and the evolving role of AI in research and teaching.

As a member of the academic leadership panel, Kishore joined fellow department chairs, associate deans, program directors, and academic administrators in sharing perspectives on transitioning into leadership roles, balancing administrative responsibilities with a scholarly career, developing leadership capabilities, and evaluating whether academic administration is the right next step at mid-career.
