LeAnne Salazar Montoya (Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education) served on the national planning committee and presented at the second annual Chola Conference. She presented on "Culture Shaming: Ending deficit-minded thinking and negative stereotypes."

The aim of the conference was to provide a space in academia to understand real narratives, unveil history, demystify stereotypes, and bridge barrio knowledge and education. Further, the conference aims to empower La Chola through the arts, society, education, activism, and beyond.
