Lance Nelson (Health Sciences), John Starkey (Business), Marlon Urquico (Honors) and Cheryl Tillotson (Liberal Arts) are the winners of the 2023-24 UNLV Academic Advising Awards presented by the Office of the Associate Vice Provost for Student Success and the Academic Advising Council Leadership Team. These awards recognize individuals that go above and beyond to serve the students, faculty, and staff at UNLV, as well as recognizing their contributions to the Advising profession. They won the following awards:
Outstanding New Advisor - Lance Nelson, Health Sciences
Outstanding Advisor - John Starkey, Business
Outstanding Advising Administrator, Asst. Director Level - Marlon Urquico, Honors College
Outstanding Advising Administrator, Director Level - Cheryl Tillotson, Liberal Arts
Cheryl Tillotson was also recently awarded a Certificate of Merit (Advising Administrator) from the National Academic of Advising Association (NACADA) for Region 9.
