Kavita Batra (Medicine) published “Global, Regional, and National Burden of Myocarditis and Its Impairment, 1990–2023” in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. The study found that although age-adjusted mortality and disability declined, the absolute burden increased because of population growth and aging, with persistent disparities across vulnerable populations and lower-resource settings. As a senior collaborator, Dr. Batra contributed her expertise in study methodology and interpretation of the findings.
