Kavita Batra (Medicine) has been selected as a 2026 Health Disparities Research Institute (HDRI) Scholar, a highly competitive national program sponsored by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Selected based on her accomplishments, commitment to health disparities research, and potential for future leadership in the field, Batra will participate in the week-long institute held at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland.
The HDRI provides intensive training in minority health and health disparities research, grantsmanship, scientific priorities, and mentorship through lectures, seminars, interactive sessions, and networking with leading NIH scientists. Batra’s selection reflects her growing national recognition as an interdisciplinary researcher and her commitment to advancing health equity through collaborative research initiatives.
