Kavita Batra (Medicine), along with the GBD 2023 Mental Disorder Collaborators, published the study “Updated Trends in the Global Prevalence and Burden of Mental Disorders, 1990–2023: A Systematic Analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2023” in The Lancet. The study highlights the substantial and growing global burden of mental disorders and emphasizes the need for stronger surveillance systems and more inclusive mental health policies worldwide. As a senior collaborator, Batra contributed critical feedback on methodological rigor and interpretation of the study findings.
