John Haberstroh (History) was interviewed for the weekly teaching newsletter of The Chronicle of Higher Education on alternative grading practices in humanities courses. Using specifications grading, Haberstroh communicates high expectations and increases transparency for students. This grading system also allows students the opportunity to revise coursework, thus reducing the student stress associated with "perfectionism."
