John Curry (History) presented a paper titled "The Life of Ünsi Hasan Efendi (d. 1723): Failed Saint, or Indicator of Structural Change in the Eighteenth-Century Ottoman Empire?" in a panel on Empires and Ideologies at the American Historical Association's Pacific Coast Branch Annual Meeting held on the UNLV campus on July 30-31. He also chaired a roundtable on "Doing Open History in the 21st Century" that discussed pedagogical resources for teaching World History courses through the newly-developed H21 Project.
