Jessica Teague (English) was recently featured in an SF Gate article that talks about the past and present of the Vegas lounge scene.
“Music is a central part to how this city has conceptualized itself,” Teague said. Historically, jazz has been in Vegas since the city’s infancy, according to Teague: Blues and jazz pianist Jelly Roll Morton played there in the teens of the 20th century, and before that, ragtime pianists were jamming on the keys in red light joints, she said.
