Hasan Deniz (Teaching and Learning) received the 2024-2025 Nevada STEM Advocate of the Year Award. The award recipient is selected by the Governor’s Office of Science, Innovation and Technology (OSIT) and the Regional STEM Networks to increase awareness of high-quality STEM education in Nevada.
Annually, each Regional STEM Network in Nevada collects applications for the Nevada STEM Advocate of the Year award. Nevada has three Regional STEM Networks: Northwestern (Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, Storey, Washoe), Rural (Churchill, Elko, Esmeralda, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lincoln, Nye, Mineral, Pershing, White Pine), and Southern (Clark). One STEM Advocate of the Year is selected per region. From these awardees, OSIT selects one Nevada STEM Advocate of the Year.
The Nevada STEM Advocate of the Year receives a certificate from the governor, a digital seal, a swag bag, and a monetary stipend of $500. The winner is presented with the award at the annual Governor STEM School Designation Ceremony.
