Cass Shum (Hospitality) and her two co-authors received the "Best Paper Award" at the APac CHRIE Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand at the end of May. Their paper "Woke washing won't work: The effects of inclusive cues on online employee review sites on job seekers' application intentions" was authored by Shum, Carrie Zhang, Ph.D. '22 from City University of Macao, and Ashokkumar Manoharan from Flinders University. Three UNLV doctoral students accompanied Shum and dean of research Seyhmus Baloglu (Hospitality) to the conference, where they presented two papers and two posters.
