Austin Horng-En Wang, Darrell Carter, Naseem Benjelloun, Dhritiman Banerjee, and Sydney Cervantes (Political Science) published an article, "Polarized by moderates", in Social Science Research. This article is a collaboration between faculty and students. This article proposes a new measure in the level of political polarization, especially focusing on how the behavior of moderate voters may influence the overall change in the polarization. The result shows that changing moderates may actually account for 50% of total increase in the level of polarization we observed previously.
