Andrew Thomas Reyes and Reimund Serafica (Nursing) recently published a paper in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health titled “Confidence Amid Constraints: Self-Efficacy, Provider Encouragement, Community Engagement, and Structural Barriers Among Filipino Adults from Underserved Communities with Chronic Disease.” The study found that strengthening primary care in underserved communities, improving financial protection, and expanding community-based self-management support may improve chronic disease outcomes and reduce health inequities.
