Amy Check and Darnelle Melvin (both Libraries) presented “Extra! Extra! Building Community Metadata through Historical Black Newspapers” at the virtual DLF Forum 2026. Their presentation highlighted how students used the Clinton Wright Photographs Collection and digitized Las Vegas Voice newspapers to identify people, places, and organizations, enrich collection descriptions, and document community connections in Las Vegas’s Historic Westside.
