Alexis Chen Rice (Psychology) presented three research posters at the 2026 Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA) Convention, held Oct. 2–3 in Las Vegas.
Rice’s presentations highlighted research examining Asian American and multiracial Asian experiences across identity, development, belonging, and higher education. The three presentations included: “Hypervigilance and Adulthood Development in Asian and Multiracial Asian Emerging Adults,” “Rave Rituals and Belonging: Subject-Matter Expert Validation of a Developing PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) Scale among Asian Americans,” & “Disentangling the Correlated Dimensions of Racial Microaggressions in Asian American Higher Education Experiences: A Relative Weights Analysis.”
Across the three projects, Rice and her collaborators examined how Asian American experiences are shaped by identity-based threat, developmental processes, community belonging, and racialized experiences in higher education.
The AAPA Convention brings together scholars, practitioners, students, and community members to advance psychological research and practice relevant to Asian American communities. Rice’s presentations reflect her broader program of research focused on identity, culture, power, belonging, and the experiences of historically marginalized populations.
