On April 8, members of the UNLV Writing Center facilitated a reading club as part of the Online Writing Centers Association (OWCA) 2026 Virtual Event Series. The session was led by three graduate student consultants — Shelbi Fitzpatrick, Miranda Hannasch, and Lacie McEntire — and hosted by assistant director Alanna Bitzel, who also serves as OWCA virtual events chair. The reading club focused on two scholarly articles exploring the affordances and trade-offs of multimodal online feedback. The event, which had almost 40 attendees, promoted lively discussion among members of various writing center communities.
