Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology

The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology is a comprehensive program that explores human movement through courses in anatomy, biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor behavior, and the psychology of exercise and sport. It offers multiple concentrations — such as exercise and health sciences; healthcare and rehabilitation sciences; exercise science and sport performance; and strength and conditioning — allowing you to tailor your studies toward careers in fitness, physical therapy, athletic training, or performance science.

Minor in Kinesiology

The minor in kinesiology provides students with a multi-faceted view of the human movement and performance. Students earning a minor in kinesiology will study foundational sciences such as anatomical kinesiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor behavior, and the psychology of exercise and sport.

Common majors to pair with this minor include (but are not limited to) applied health sciences, biological sciences, business administration, nutrition sciences, psychology, and public health.

Master of Science in Kinesiology

The Master of Science in Kinesiology is a research-focused program that offers specialization in areas like biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor control. Students can choose a thesis or non-thesis track, gain hands-on experience with advanced lab equipment, and complete core and elective coursework. The program prepares graduates for careers in clinical, athletic, or research settings, as well as further study in doctoral or allied health programs.

Nutrition Sciences Programs

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences

The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences is an evidence-based program that prepares students for careers in nutrition research, healthcare, and dietetics through rigorous coursework in physiology, nutritional biochemistry, community nutrition, and clinical dietetics. Students choose among three concentrations — Social & Behavioral Nutrition, Interprofessional Nutrition Sciences, or Nutrition for Healthcare (ACEND‑accredited DPD) — allowing you to tailor your studies toward engaging in public health, preparing for professional school, or becoming registered dietitians.

Minor in Nutrition Sciences

The minor in Nutrition Sciences provides students with a multi-faceted view of human nutrition. Students earning a minor in Nutrition Sciences will study foundational sciences, such as principles of nutrition, nutrition assessment, global nutrition and cultural food practices, nutrition through the life cycle, community nutrition, and macronutrient metabolism.

Post-Baccalaureate Dietetic Internship in Nutrition Sciences

The Post-Baccalaureate Dietetic Internship in Nutrition Sciences is a 1,000‑hour, ACEND‑accredited program offering supervised experience in clinical nutrition, food‑service management, and community dietetics. It emphasizes evidence‑based practice and serves a culturally diverse population in the Las Vegas area. Graduates become eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians and, upon passing, earn the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.

Athletic Training Program

Master of Science in Athletic Training

The CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program is a rigorous, full-time professional degree designed to prepare students for a career as a certified athletic trainer (ATC). The program integrates intensive didactic coursework with progressive, hands-on clinical education experiences across six continuous semesters. Students receive instruction in the five domains of athletic training practice: risk reduction, clinical diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, therapeutic intervention, and healthcare administration. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the national Board of Certification (BOC) examination, which is required for professional licensure in most states. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practice and prepares students to work as collaborative healthcare professionals across a variety of settings in the Las Vegas community and beyond.

Interdisciplinary Programs

Doctor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences

The Ph.D program in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences trains students to tackle complex health challenges using collaborative, team-based research methods and courses that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries.

Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience

The Ph.D. program in Neuroscience provides rigorous research training in areas ranging from molecular and cellular neuroscience to cognitive and clinical neuroscience, with faculty mentorship coming from multiple departments across campus.
