Our graduates are employed in various industries, including: software development, gaming, and healthcare. Most of our graduates join high-tech companies and work on emerging areas of information technology. Some of our M.S. graduates have also joined top Ph.D. programs or have chosen to pursue their Ph.D. at UNLV.

Faculty and Facilities

The Department of Computer Science employs more than 25 faculty members, many of whom have received a variety of teaching and research awards, including:

Research opportunities and fellowships are available through government and industry partners including the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Defense, and Teledyne Brown.

We emphasize a high-quality academic atmosphere and strive to create a dynamic and creative research environment for our graduate students. Our program is nationally and internationally recognized for research, in both theoretical and experimental computer science.

Some of our research facilities are housed in the Science and Engineering Building (SEB) which creates a unique environment for interdisciplinary work on the UNLV campus.
