The Department of Teaching & Learning offers two Conditional Licensure Certificates to choose from; Elementary Teaching program and a Secondary Teaching program. Both certificates require 12 credits of coursework and are designed to provide courses that address the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed for elementary or secondary teachers. The certificates provide candidates an opportunity to meet conditional licensure requirements so that they are eligible for the Nevada conditional teaching license and for hire in Nevada schools. This conditional license is valid for three years in Nevada. Students who pursue the Graduate Conditional Licensure Certificates will not be eligible for a standard Nevada license without completing the additional licensing requirements or ARL-track M.Ed. programs. The 12 credits completed in the certificate programs may be applied to fulfill requirements in the ARL-track M.Ed. programs.
