Classroom full of students

Welcome to the School of Architecture!

The UNLV School of Architecture (SoA) is renowned for its innovative research, teaching, and outreach that is critically informed, academically rigorous, design-led, and interdisciplinary.

We are a vibrant, engaging school that inspires and challenges our students. We help grow your knowledge in a tutoring culture that is productive, curious, and on the pulse of today’s ever-developing world.

We offer accredited programs in three disciplines:

  • Architecture
  • Landscape Architecture
  • Interior Architecture and Design

We are based in the centre of Las Vegas, a unique and fast-growing city located in the Mojave Desert, Southern Nevada. We capitalize on this unique regional location to improve the human condition through teaching, research, and service.

Billboard Yearbook

Over the last 25 years, the School of Architecture has grown up alongside the design professions in Las Vegas, Southern Nevada, and the American Southwest. Las Vegas has always been seen as a unique laboratory and field of experimentation for new ideas of architecture and interior design.

On 360 pages, BILLBOARD provides an introduction to the various programs of teaching and impactful research that made up the last year. The BILLBOARD book presents countless projects, meaningful initiatives and programs, and demonstrates the school’s unique and on-going evolution.

UNLV has been categorized as R1-University “very high research activity” (Carnegie classification), the gold standard for higher education institutions, and UNLV is one of just 120 universities with the distinction, out of the approximately 4,000 universities and colleges in the USA.

Being a Carnegie R1 university elevates our efforts to further support our outstanding faculty and students, recruit new members to our university, and power even more research, economic development, and creative activities.
