The UNLV School of Architecture is pleased to congratulate 6th-year Master of Architecture students Kayla Larose and Alan Garcia on their acceptance into the 2026 Venice Studio, an international design program that brings together emerging designers, students, and architects from around the world.

Venice Studio describes its mission as supporting future generations of architects, urbanists, and designers through close mentorship with established international architects at the forefront of design-centered practice. Since its founding in Venice in 2022, the program has welcomed young designers from 45 countries and has expanded to include a Tokyo program.

Kayla Larose was selected to participate in consecutive Venice Studio programs in Venice, Italy, and Tokyo, Japan, including studio collaboration with MVRDV in Venice and Kengo Kuma and Associates in Tokyo. In her correspondence with the School, Kayla described the opportunity as a way to represent UNLV within an international academic and professional context and to share the experience back with the School through presentations, documentation, or written reflections.

This recognition is a significant achievement for both students and reflects the growing international presence and professional promise of UNLV School of Architecture students. We are proud of Kayla and Alan for this accomplishment and grateful for the way they continue to represent the School of Architecture, the College of Fine Arts, and the university.
