German
Program Overview
Our majors and minors can also earn a certificate in translation in German-English, as part of their degree. This is a professional qualification that will help you land a job after graduation.
At UNLV, German studies don't end in the classroom. Our German Club meets weekly to speak German in an informal atmosphere. We also show at least one German-language film each month and go to concerts, plays, and German restaurants often during each semester.
German Minor
Requirements for a Minor in German studies at UNLV consist of a minimum of 18 credits of German coursework. These may include GER 213 and GER 214. The 12 remaining credits are to be at the upper division (300-400) level, six of which must be in composition and conversation.
German Major
Our Bachelor of Arts Major in German includes a minimum 36 credits of 200-400-level course work in Literature (24 credits), Composition and Conversation (6 credits), Linguistics (3 credits) and Culture and Civilization (3 credits).
