About Our Microcredentials
Healthcare is the 4th largest industry in Las Vegas and ranks 8th in terms of the fastest growing industries. Health care is also one of six areas targeted by the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development. The Department of Sociology has three unique microcredentials that offer valuable information to complement your major and help students learn how to interpret health, medicine, addiction, and public health issues through a sociological lens. Completion of the microcredential is recognized with a digital badge, and on the student’s transcript, providing a visible record of their specialized training and skills.
