In 29 CFR 1910.134, OSHA requires that UNLV develop and implement a written respiratory protection program to protect the health of employees where respirator use is necessary to accomplish their job responsibilities.
Worksite specific procedures are required and contain the following elements to ensure workers are cleared, trained, and prepared to use respirators.
- Medical evaluations
- Annual training (either online or in-classroom)
- Annual fit testing
Fit Testing
Fit testing for respirators worn by employees is performed at the Risk Management & Safety offices in the Campus Services Building, room 201. UNLV employees should schedule a fit test by logging into their REBELearn account. Enter "fit test" into the search bar and results will come up. Click the register button under "RMS - Respiratory Awareness with Fit Testing". Students can contact RMS at 702-895-0463 for scheduling. When you arrive at suite 201 for your fit test, please check in with the front desk.
