Chairs for the department/unit and college tenure and promotion committees are selected.

July 1, 2020

Department chairs/unit directors send additional external referee solicitations if four letters have not been received.

Candidates submit their application materials to the department chair (deadline may vary by department/unit and/or school/college).

Department chairs/unit directors and department/unit committees review the submitted tenure and promotion dossiers.

Deans and college/school committees review the submitted tenure and promotion dossiers.

Deans "send" tenure and promotion dossiers forward for review.

October 9, 2020

The University Tenure and Promotion Committee begins review of dossiers.

December 4, 2020

The University (Faculty Senate) Tenure and Promotion Committee provides recommendations and dossiers to the President and Executive Vice President and Provost.

January 31, 2021

The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost disseminates application notification letters to candidates.

March 2021

The Office of the President submits tenure recommendations to the Board of Regents for final approval.

July 1, 2021

The new rank for faculty members who received tenure/promotion becomes official.
